A stunning claro walnut slab & patina steel
The beautiful claro walnut grain spills over in a ‘waterfall’ to form one set of legs. The leg has a natural bridge shape in the middle, from where the tree once split from trunk to branches. Cracks and voids were patched by hand with complementary blocks, known as Dutchmen. Some blocks were chosen to seamlessly blend in, others to create striking visual contrast.
The other leg is made from a single piece of heavy-duty bent steel plate. The patina has shades of orange, brown, green and blue. The center of the steel leg was hand-cut to match the arch shape of the wood leg.
